Mirror Color Fix
Makes both sides of mirrored gear get the same color.
What This Mod Does
Vanilla cosmetics all come with a LOD Group. The game uses LodGroupMaterialIndexer to link the materials of the two mirrored copies, so when you dye a vanilla item, both sides change together.
But most modded cosmetics have no LOD Group. This causes a long-standing but rarely noticed issue:
You set a color on a modded cosmetic, but only one side gets it. The other side keeps the prefab's original material.
For symmetrical gear (bracers, boots, shoulder pads, etc.), this looks like "one half dyed, one half not" — which is very jarring.
After CharacterItem.Equip finishes, this mod automatically checks every equipped item:
- Is it a mirrored item? (
m_gameObjects.Length >= 2) - Does the mirror copy lack a
LodGroupMaterialIndexer? - If so, copy the already-resolved color data from the original to the mirror's Renderers.
