README

Wisplings

The Wisplight follows you around and clears the mist, and that's about it. Wisplings adds fifteen wisps that each have a job. One fixes your walls, one picks your crops, one carries loot back to you after a fight, one spots serpents before they reach your boat, and one takes a killing blow for you once a day.

You make and upgrade them at the Galdr table, and each has three levels. They clear mist like the Wisplight and wear in the same slot, so you can only have one on at a time. Put a second one in a Wisp Anchor and it'll work at your base while you're out.

The wisps

Wisp What it does Levels 1 → 2 → 3
Repair (amber) Flies from piece to piece fixing damaged buildings near you. Slows down during raids. 25% per visit, 10 m → full repair, 15 m → full repair that spreads to nearby pieces, 20 m
Harvest (green) Picks ripe crops and wild plants that grow back, and brings them to your feet. 1 per trip → 4 → 6, and replants crops with seeds from your inventory
Gleaner (gold) After a fight, collects the loot lying around and drops it at your feet. Leaves alone anything you dropped yourself. 1 stack per trip → 3 → also fishes items out of water
Stoker (ember) Refuels the fires in your base from your chests. fires and torches → + smelters, furnaces and kilns → + loads ore
Stash (bronze) Put a sign that says "Stash" next to a chest. Whatever you dump in it gets carried to the chest where that item already lives. 1 stack per trip → 3, fills part stacks first → 5, and gives new items an empty chest
Herder (lime) Takes food from your chests to hungry tames in your base. food for 2 → 5, using what you have most of → and walks tames that wander off back home
Sentinel (magenta) Pulses and chimes when something hostile gets close, faster as it closes in. It only warns. 30 m → 40 m, deeper chime for bosses and starred enemies → 50 m, names the threat and where it is, warns of shots from behind
Warden (cobalt) A shield that soaks up damage until it breaks, then recharges once you're out of combat. absorbs 75 → 120 → 175, and knocks enemies back when it breaks
Scout (pearl) Marks things worth picking up with a short glow only you can see. Leaves your map alone. pickables, 20 m → + unopened chests, 30 m → + dungeon entrances, 40 m, and flies out to show you
Phoenix (crimson) Once a day, a hit that would kill you doesn't. Then it goes dark until it recharges. leaves you on 1 health → 10%, 2 s untouchable, clears poison, fire and frost → 25%, 3 s, and a flare that throws enemies back in flames
Balm (rose) Slowly heals you between fights. you → + your tames → + other players nearby
Wayfinder (spirit grey) Die while wearing it and it's waiting when you respawn, ready to lead you back to your tombstone. 10 min → 20 min, lights the way at night → 30 min, and a column of light over the tombstone
Mariner (teal) On a ship it sits above the mast, lights the water at night for everyone aboard and warns you about serpents and other sea creatures. 40 m → 60 m, names the creature and direction → 80 m, and a countdown before a Leviathan you're standing on dives
Storm (violet) Hits enemies that are already fighting you with small bolts of lightning. Never starts a fight, and leaves animals, tames and players alone. 10 damage every 4 s → 20 every 3 s → 25 every 3 s, arcing to a second enemy
Bastion (indigo) Only works in a Wisp Anchor. Fuel it with Refined Eitr and monsters stay out of a small area around it. One per base. 16 m across → 24 m → 32 m, and holds its size during raids

The Sentinel, Warden, Phoenix, Storm and Bastion are the strong ones, and they cost like it: late-game materials to make and a boss trophy for level 3. The rest are priced for Mistlands.

Wisp Anchor

Build it with the hammer (Misc tab) near a Galdr table. While wearing a Repair, Harvest, Stoker, Stash, Herder or Bastion wisp, use the Anchor to put the wisp in, and use it again to take it back. The wisp works around the Anchor at its own level. A Harvest Wisp in an Anchor drops what it picks into the nearest chest.

To fuel a Bastion, hold Shift and use the Anchor with Refined Eitr in your inventory.

The Anchor only runs while someone is close enough for that part of the world to be loaded.

Crafting

Everything is made at the Galdr table. Level 2 needs a level 2 table, level 3 a level 3 table. Recipes use Wisps, Refined Eitr and a few items that suit each wisp.

Multiplayer

Everyone needs the mod, the server too. Everyone sees everyone's wisps, and a wisp never touches a chest another player has open. Gameplay settings come from the server's config. Sound, glow and colour settings are your own.

Config

BepInEx/config/com.studio2711.wisplings.cfg has a section per wisp: ranges, amounts and timings for each level, and the recipes as Item:amount lists (Craft, Level2, Level3). Set an amount to 0 to take that item out of a recipe.
