YggdrasilStorage

A standalone storage and crafting mod for Valheim. Connect nearby chests through a searchable Storage Core, deposit carried items and craft using nearby stations.

Inspired by Magic Storage for Terraria, created by BlushieMagic. This Valheim project is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by BlushieMagic.

Installation

Requires BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn. Install with a mod manager, or close Valheim and copy the package's BepInEx folder into your game installation. When updating manually, replace the old YggdrasilStorage DLL rather than keeping two copies.

The host and all clients must use the same version. Existing Storage Cores retain their contents when updating.

Getting started

Build a Storage Core from Hammer → Furniture near a workbench. It costs 10 Wood and 1 Surtling Core. Place eligible chests within range and close their inventory windows before using the Core.

Select an item to withdraw a quantity or take one stack. Use the Your inventory tab to deposit selected items manually. Manually selected hotbar items may be deposited.

Wooden, reinforced, blackmetal and private chests are eligible by default. Carts, ships, graves and other Cores are excluded. Custom stationary containers can be added to EligiblePrefabs in the configuration, subject to compatibility.

Materials tab

Search for an item or building piece, including boats, and select Collect materials to withdraw one recipe's full ingredient set from connected chests. The list shows the amount needed, stored and missing for each ingredient. Already carried ingredients are not subtracted. No linked station is required to collect materials; normal crafting and building requirements still apply when you use them.

Ordinary mod-added recipes and pieces registered with build tools are included. Alternative-ingredient recipes, upgrades and custom crafting systems are not included. Locked, equipped, enchanted and upgraded items are excluded from ingredient collection. The full set must fit in your inventory and the Core's temporary storage; no partial set is withdrawn if materials or space are insufficient. If inventory changes during delivery, the set remains inside the Core, accessible with Alt+Use.

Other mods

SmartCraftStorage is optional. Within range of an accessible Core, YggdrasilStorage handles an accepted quick-deposit shortcut. Outside that range, SmartCraftStorage keeps its normal shortcut. Its crafting, building and other features remain available. YggdrasilStorage respects SmartCraftStorage item locks but does not provide its own lock editor.

Custom items retain their quality, enchantments and other item data. Differing item properties may appear as separate entries. Epic Loot has an optional integration for enchanted item names and data; magical items are excluded from ordinary crafting ingredients. Enchanting and other Epic Loot services remain in their original menus.

Custom stations using Valheim's ordinary crafting system can be linked. Special crafting interfaces and mods that replace inventory or access behaviour may require additional integration. Compatibility with every mod combination is not guaranteed.
