Simpler Meads
Six meads for the things Valheim has no answer for: move in silence, learn faster, carry ore through a portal, keep your skills when you die, dry off in the rain, and take the comforts of home with you.
CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.1.0
- Recipes now follow the server. Connect to a server running this mod and its recipes apply for that session, so everyone pays the same price and nobody can edit their own file down to one honey. Your file is untouched and comes back when you play alone.
- Fermenter yield is the one thing that does not travel — the server's ingredients apply, its yield does not.
Durations and the cooldown already followed the server in 1.0.0; this closes the gap for recipes, which are the other half of balance.
1.0.0
First release.
Simpler Meads is a rebuild of Simple Meads, cut from eleven meads to six. Valheim has since brewed its own answers to most of what that mod did — Ratatosk and Vananidir cover speed on land and in water, Berserkir covers attack speed, and the healing, stamina and eitr tiers are all vanilla now. Those meads are gone rather than left to compete.
What remains is six things the game still has no mead for:
- Tonic of Kvasir — skills improve faster
- Mead of Mimir — keep your skills through a death
- Bifrost Mead — carry anything through a portal
- Soft Tread Mead — move, mine and chop in silence
- Hearthfire Mead — dries you off and keeps you dry
- Comforts of Home — ten minutes of Rested, anywhere
Also new since Simple Meads:
- Mead bases are crafted at the Mead Ketill, which did not exist when the original shipped.
- Recipes can be redefined in
elric.SimplerMeads.recipes.ymlwithout a rebuild, per mead and per field. Anything left alone keeps following the mod. - Comforts of Home grants vanilla's own Rested, rather than a separate buff that looked like it. Drinking it at home refreshes the one you have instead of stacking a second.
- Recipes were rebalanced against vanilla's own mead bases, which never ask for more than ten of anything. The old ones asked for twenty honey across the board.
