README

You're Tired

Part of the Scavengers Survival Series for Valheim.

You're Tired gives the player an Energy meter. It turns hard travel and poor planning into fatigue, while shelter, warmth, food, water, and sleep give recovery real value.

What it adds

  • Persistent Energy saved to the character.
  • Energy drain from time awake, sprinting, swimming, work, combat, cold, hunger, thirst, and injuries.
  • Energy recovery from dry shelter, warmth, food, water, and sleeping.
  • Low Energy penalties to movement, sprint build-up, stamina recovery, mining, and chopping.
  • A gentle yawn system below 45% Energy that becomes more frequent near exhaustion without rapid repetition.
  • A movable/resizable vertical Energy meter.

Controls

  • L — Enter or leave the Tired HUD layout editor.
    • Drag the meter to move it.
    • Drag a gold corner handle to resize it.
  • F4 — Write diagnostics to BepInEx/LogOutput.log.
  • F1 — Toggle the tiredness system for the current session.
  • Ctrl + F3 — Hide or restore the mod HUD along with Valheim's HUD toggle.

Configuration

  • General > Enabled turns the tiredness system and its penalties on or off.
  • HUD > ShowTiredMeter hides only the Energy meter.
  • HUD > HideHudWithCtrlF3 controls whether Ctrl + F3 hides this HUD.
  • Energy drain/recovery rates, gameplay penalties, yawn audio, and HUD placement are configurable.

Audio

Keep yawn.mp3 in:

BepInEx/plugins/YoureTired/assets/audio/

Installation

  1. Install through Thunderstore/r2modman, or install BepInExPack for Valheim manually.
  2. Place YoureTired.dll and the supplied assets folder in BepInEx/plugins/YoureTired/.
  3. Launch Valheim once to create the config file.

Multiplayer

Use the same version for the people playing together so fatigue and movement effects are consistent.
