LoadBearing
See the support of every building piece around you while you build: blue on the ground, green strong, red about to fall. Insert toggles it. With ZenRedecorate, walls and floors can be moved too.

This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2351README
LoadBearing
See the structural support of every building piece around you at once while you build, not just the one under your hammer.
The game already colours a piece by its support when you point the hammer at it. LoadBearing applies the same colours to every piece within 30 m, so weak beams and overhangs stand out before they collapse.
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blue | Resting on the ground (full support) |
| Green | Strong |
| Yellow / orange | Getting weak |
| Red | About to fall |
How to use
- Press
Insertto switch the view on. From then on the colours show whenever the hammer is out, and disappear when you put it away. Insertagain switches it off. The view is off each time you load the game (you can change that in the config).
Settings (anwo.LoadBearing.cfg)
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Toggle key | Insert | Turns the view on or off |
| On at start | false | Whether the view starts switched on |
| Build mode only | true | Only colour pieces while the hammer is out. Turn off to see support at any time |
| Show on/off message | true | Message in the top left when you toggle |
| Radius | 30 | How far around you pieces are coloured, in metres (5-100) |
| Only pieces weaker than | 1 | 1 = every piece, 0.5 = pieces at half support or less, 0.25 = only pieces close to collapsing |
| Show grounded pieces | true | Turn off to hide the blue pieces |
| Pieces per frame | 150 | Lower it if a very large base stutters while the view is on |
| Refresh interval | 1 | Seconds between checks for pieces whose support changed; only those are recoloured |
| Move building pieces | true | With ZenRedecorate: move walls, floors, beams and other building pieces too, not only furniture |
Moving building pieces
With ZenRedecorate installed, building pieces can be picked up and moved like furniture. Pieces that rested on a moved piece work out their support again, and fall if nothing else holds them up. ZenRedecorate's own rules (wards, distance, its deny list) still apply.
Multiplayer
Client-side: only the players who want it need it. The support values come from the game itself, so they're right for pieces built by anyone.
Compatibility
LoadBearing uses the game's own highlight and adds nothing to the world. It patches WearNTear.ResetHighlight, to keep pieces coloured while the view is on, and, when ZenRedecorate is installed, its move check so building pieces can be moved.
Removing the mod
Nothing is added to the world or saved, so you can remove it at any time.
