Unofficial EpicLoot BountyAdditions

A companion DLL and data pack for Epic Loot 0.14.13. It adds 51 regular-enemy bounty variants, 14 vanilla boss variants, a dedicated rotating boss slot, and increased loot from bounty bosses.

Boss-slot behavior

  • Boss definitions do not compete with Epic Loot's ordinary one-per-biome bounty rolls.
  • Killing the primary boss completes the contract. Encounter adds remain part of the fight but are not hidden completion requirements after the boss is dead.
  • One boss whose world defeat key is already set is appended to the available list.
  • The boss identity rotates in biome progression order on each Epic Loot bounty refresh.
  • Solo/add variants are selected deterministically for the interval and player.
  • If the rotating boss was already accepted during the interval, the slot advances to the next defeated boss that player has not accepted.
  • Boss eligibility uses world defeat keys directly, so Gated Bounty Mode can be set according to the server's preference for regular bounties. An undefeated boss is never offered by this pack.

If every defeated boss has already been accepted by the player during the current refresh interval, there is no additional unused boss identity to offer. The slot returns at the next refresh. This retains Epic Loot's normal once-per-target-per-interval rule instead of creating repeat-farming IDs.

Boss-bounty drops

Only the primary boss spawned for an Epic Loot bounty receives the vanilla-material bonus. Ordinary altar bosses, regular bounty targets, and bounty adds are unchanged.

The server-synchronized settings are:

  • Vanilla Drop Multiplier = 2: doubles every vanilla boss drop, including materials, trophies, Crypt Keys, and Wishbones. The default therefore produces twice Epic Loot's normal per-player trophy and progression-item counts.
  • Guarantee Epic Loot Item = true: the first eligible gear result from the boss's normal Epic Loot roll remains an enchanted item instead of being converted to dust/materials, a biome shard, or an unidentified item. It does not add another table roll; later results use Epic Loot's normal ratios.

The multiplier accepts values from 1 through 10; 1 disables that bonus. Configure these on the server in BepInEx/config/vapok.mods.unofficialepiclootbountyadditions.cfg. Jotunn synchronizes the server values to clients.

Epic Loot rewards use its native bounty behavior: the bounty assigns the boss a higher creature level, then Epic Loot rolls that boss's level-specific loot table once. The level-specific table already increases drop count and rarity compared with an ordinary level-one altar boss. This pack does not perform a second full table roll. The guarantee only prevents the first eligible equipment result from being substituted, ensuring that a boss bounty cannot pay out solely in dust.

Included content

  • patches/BountyAdditions.Bosses.json: solo and adds variants for Eikthyr, The Elder, Bonemass, Moder, Yagluth, The Queen, and Fader.
  • patches/BountyAdditions.Enemies.json: 51 regular-enemy variants across Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, Mountain, Plains, Ocean, Mistlands, Ashlands, and Deep North.
  • UnofficialEpicLootBountyAdditions.dll: reserves and rotates the boss slot while leaving Epic Loot's standard filtering and ordinary selection logic intact, and applies the bounty-specific drop bonuses.

The optional ExperimentalKall.json.disabled file is not included in the normal install. Kall is a scripted multi-phase encounter, so spawning only FrozenKing_p3 still requires disposable-world testing.

Installation

Install the same package on the dedicated server and every client. Epic Loot enforces matching multiplayer mods, and the bounty-board list is generated on each client.

  1. Install Epic Loot 0.14.13 and its dependencies everywhere.
  2. Install Unofficial_EpicLoot_BountyAdditions-1.3.0.zip through the mod manager on the server and every client, or manually copy its plugins/ and config/ folders into the corresponding BepInEx folders.
  3. Restart the server and clients.

There is only one universal archive. Its two JSON patches are harmless on clients: Epic Loot replaces the client's adventure data with the server-synchronized copy while connected. The local patches remain active for single-player worlds.

Removal

Remove UnofficialEpicLootBountyAdditions.dll everywhere and remove the two BountyAdditions.*.json files from the server's Epic Loot patch directory. Accepted bounties can remain in player saves until completed or abandoned.
