README

Clearer Weather

Enjoy clearer skies and more weather variety in Valheim. The mod keeps the original weather's wind range.

Clearer Weather runs on your client; the server does not need it.

Default weather

Area Change
Swamp 30% sunny and 5% fog; remaining weather is rain.
Mountains 30% clear northern weather; blizzards stay.
Ashlands 30% warm, hazy clear weather.
Ashlands Ocean 50% storm, 40% ash rain, 10% clear.
Plains Adds 5% rain and 2% thunderstorms.
Mistlands 30% forest-style weather; local mist stays.

Chances apply to normal weather selections and are limited by the weather available to replace. Forced weather keeps its normal priority. Meadows, Black Forest, Deep North, and ordinary Ocean weather are unchanged.

Install

Install with a mod manager. For a manual install, copy MoreClearWeather.dll to BepInEx/plugins. BepInEx 5 is required.

Settings

Launch the game once to create BepInEx/config/JPValheim.MoreClearWeather.cfg. Close the game, edit the file, and restart. With a configuration manager, changes apply at the next normal weather selection.

Each area has an Enabled switch and adjustable chances. Set General → Enabled to false to use normal weather everywhere.

For example, change these lines in the existing [Swamp] section to request 50% clear weather:

Clear chance (%) = 50
Clear weather style = Sunny

Swamp, Mountains, Ashlands, and Mistlands offer Sunny, Forest, Golden, Northern, and Custom styles. Ashlands Ocean can use its own style or follow Ashlands. Plains has rain and thunderstorm settings.

For Custom, enter an exact environment name in Custom environment name. A blank or unknown name keeps the original weather. Styles can change whether your character is wet or freezing; Northern is freezing.

If requested chances exceed the weather available to replace, they scale down together. Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log for the effective chances. Players using different settings may see different weather.
