MagicStaffTweaker
This mod lets you completely modify and tweak the resources needed to operate the staffs, in addition to adding summon limits and damage upgrades. This version requires everyone on the server you're playing on to install this mod. I have a separate mod for client-side only.
Highlights
- Compact, staff-specific controls instead of a huge generic modifier list.
- Eitr/health costs, cast speed, cooldowns, damage and relevant projectile behaviour.
- Staff of Protection barrier tuning.
- Dead Raiser, Staff of the Wild and Spirit Caller summon-limit controls.
- Staff of the Wild summon spread for large root groups.
- Optional Spirit Caller 1-star and 2-star animal summons with configurable chances.
- Northern Vengeance ally-application radius and quality-aware duration multiplier.
- Configuration Manager compatible and server synchronized.
Installation
Install with a compatible mod manager, or place the included DLLs under BepInEx/plugins.
Requires BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn. For multiplayer, install this server edition on the server and participating clients so the authoritative synchronized configuration can be applied consistently.
Configuration
Launch once to generate the configuration file. Settings are grouped by staff.
Spirit Caller starred summons preserve vanilla behaviour by default: Disabled / 0% / 0%.
Compatibility
Designed for Valheim 1.0-era game assemblies and Jötunn 2.30.x. Game updates may require a mod update.
Client-only edition
The separate MagicStaffTweaker client/single-player edition uses a deliberately lighter configuration set and is not the same plugin as this server-authoritative edition.
2.3.4 fixes
- Staff damage is applied to actual outgoing HitData rather than a nonexistent projectile multiplier field. Inherited projectile damage is not multiplied again.
- Saved config entries are recognized before binding, preventing defaults from replacing saved edits at each launch.
- Summon Health captures inherited Humanoid health and resolves known summon prefabs; its default/Reset uses vanilla health and keeps positive custom values.
- Hidden settings remain excluded from movement/health edits. Shared skeleton weapon damage baselines are cached by SharedData, avoiding repeated multiplication across equips.
- Summons Per Cast uses the current SpawnAbility count fields. Ignore Summon Limit bypasses skill/quality count restrictions while retaining level-up/star data and enforcing the configured server maximum (at least the cast count).
- Existing synchronized settings, Spirit Caller starred summons, Wild spread, protection/vengeance tuning and server features remain available.
The server's Ignore Summon Limit uses its existing configured maximum; it is not the unlimited local bypass of the client-only edition. Switching it off restores ordinary skill/quality enforcement. Keep server and participating clients on this same version.
Plugin GUID, DLL filenames and com.magicstafftweaker.server.cfg are unchanged. Keep existing config files. The new server port passed build and automated checks but still needs an in-game synchronized multiplayer test before publication.
