Arrow Rotation
Slow them, poison them, finish them off - rotate arrows without touching a key
- Build a pattern from arrows in your inventory; Arrow Rotation cycles through them automatically.
- Mark the ammo stacks you want in the rotation; the order follows your inventory layout.
- Toggle the rotation on and off, tap a key to fire the same arrow again, or reset back to the start of your sequence.
Setting up your rotation order
The rotation order is your inventory grid order of ammo types you mark for rotation.
- Inventory grid order is top row to bottom row, then left to right.
- Set and unset ammo for rotation by pressing Set Ammo (default middle click) while hovering over the ammo stack in your inventory. A "+" will appear in the upper right corner of the stack to indicate that stack in included in the rotation.
- The rotation will use ammo that matches your currently equipped bow or crossbow, so you can have both arrows and bolts marked for rotation.
- Drag the ammo in inventory to rearrange your pattern.
Example: To build a Frost > Poison > Needle combo, place your Frost Arrows, Poison Arrows, and Needle Arrows in your inventory left-to-right (or top down) in that order. Then hover over your inventory and middle-click the stacks you want in the rotation.
Assuming you have enabled all three, then:
- Shot 1: Frost Arrow flies — freezes and slows your target.
- Shot 2: Poison Arrow flies — target's now taking damage over time.
- Shot 3: Needle Arrow flies — finish it off.
- Shot 4: back to Frost, and the sequence repeats.
How it works
- Rotation only runs while a bow/crossbow-type weapon is equipped.
- Turning rotation off leaves your ammo currently equipped — nothing changes until you turn it back on.
- Turning rotation on continues the cycle with the current arrow type.
- Hold Rotation prevents cycling to the next arrow type for one shot
- Re-equipping a bow after sheathing or switching from one bow to another resets the cycle to the start of your pattern.
- To restart the sequence without sheathing your bow hit Quick Reset.
- Switching weapons (i.e., bow to crossbow) automatically resets the rotation to whatever ammo type the new weapon actually uses.
Configuration
- Ammo Rotation: Enable or disable rotation. Toggled using the Toggle Rotation key. Default is on.
- Toggle Rotation: Press to toggle rotation on/off.
- Hold Rotation: Tap during a bow draw to keep shooting the current ammo type.
- Quick Reset: Press to reset the rotation back to the first ammo type of your cycle.
- Set Ammo: Press while hovering over an ammo item in inventory to include or exclude the ammo in the rotation. Default is
Mouse2(middle click) - Show Ammo Icon: Display the next ammo selection in the status bar.
- LogLevel: Controls the level of information contained in the log.
Notes
- Rotation only cycles ammo that matches your currently equipped weapon's ammo type, so mixed inventories (arrows and bolts together) sort themselves out correctly.
- Works with modded arrows and bolts automatically — nothing to configure per arrow type.
- Press Hold Rotation_ any time during your draw to 'keep' the same ammo for your next shot. You don't need to hold it down.
- Rotation advances the instant you loose an arrow — it doesn't wait to see whether the shot connects, so plan your order around your shot sequence, not around confirmed hits.
- Splitting an enabled stack will copy the enabled state to the split stack. Merging stacks will inherit the enabled state of the target stack.
- You can arrange multiple stacks of the same type in different slots, i.e., frost, fire, poison, fire, frost, needle
- ArrowRotation is not compatible with BetrValheim's 'equipment page'. You can use ArrowRotation with BetrValheim's equipment page "off" combined with AzuExtendedPlayerInventory or ExtraSlots
