Fish Quality Tracker
Version 1.0.0 | Author: OceanMan1327 | AI Generated
Find the fish you want with configurable nameplates and 3D ESP boxes. Filter by quality and species, and see the bait needed to catch each fish.
Features
- Fish nameplates: name, quality, compatible bait and distance. Each field can be hidden.
- Rotating 3D ESP boxes with adjustable color, line thickness and padding.
- Quality filter: track any combination of levels 1-5.
- Individual toggles for all 12 standard fish types, plus Other Fish for modded fish.
- Independent hotkeys for nameplates and ESP.
- Automatic hiding in menus; overlays remain visible with inventory open.
- Optional diagnostic HUD and fish logs.
Fully client-side. No server installation required. Reads loaded fish without changing spawning, quality or gameplay state.
Installation
Install with r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager and launch using Start modded. BepInExPack Valheim is required. Mod Configs is optional and provides an in-game settings interface.
For a downloaded ZIP, use Settings > Profile > Import local mod in r2modman. Ensure BepInExPack Valheim is installed in that profile. Remove or disable older duplicate copies of FishQualityTracker.
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| F8 | Toggle fish nameplates |
| F7 | Toggle ESP boxes |
Both hotkeys are configurable and save their enabled state.
Configuration
Edit settings through Mod Configs, the manager's config editor, or your profile's BepInEx/config/local.fishqualitytracker.cfg. Close the game before editing the file manually.
| Section | Settings |
|---|---|
| Global | Enabled, ScanRadius, ScanInterval |
| Fish Nameplate | ToggleKey, Enabled, ShowName, ShowQuality, ShowBait, ShowDistance |
| ESP | ToggleKey, Enabled, BoxColor, BoxPadding, LineThickness |
| Filters | QualityFilter |
| Fish Types | Individual fish toggles |
| Display | Debug |
Defaults: 250 m scan radius, 0.75-second scan interval, all fish types and qualities enabled, nameplates and ESP enabled, debug disabled.
Example nameplate: Coral Cod | Q3 | Heavy Fishing Bait | 28 m.
Set QualityFilter to 5 for Q5 only, 3,4,5 for those levels, or leave it empty to allow all qualities. Fish Types and QualityFilter apply together. Fish with unreadable quality display Q? rather than disappearing.
Bait names follow the game language. Multiple compatible baits are separated by /. Compatibility does not guarantee a catch.
Notes
- Only fish already loaded by your client can be tracked. Increasing the radius does not load distant fish.
- ESP boxes are visible through water and obstacles. Bounds may have extra space around animated models.
- Unknown fish types use Other Fish. Custom bait names are supported.
- Debug shows the full diagnostic list, regardless of filters. Disabling it stops periodic fish logs; startup messages and warnings remain.
- Existing settings from development versions are migrated automatically.
