CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.5.0

  • Fixed: the blueprint ghost now follows your aim and turns with the scroll wheel. Before, it stayed where it first appeared and couldn't be rotated, so clicking placed it right there.
  • Pick the snap point: press Q / E (the game's snap keys) while placing to choose which corner of the rack snaps or follows your aim. Each one is named on screen, like "Bottom front-left corner", "Top back-right corner" or "Shelf 2 ...". Bottom corners come first, then top, then the shelves. Hold Shift to place without snapping.
  • Move / rotate a placed blueprint: press U on it and click Move / rotate. It goes back onto your hammer to be placed again (only before any of its pieces are built).
  • The design window now only opens when you pick Storage Rack from the build menu, not every time you take the hammer out.
  • The click that closes the design window can no longer also lay the blueprint down.

1.4.0

  • Remove a blueprint by middle-clicking it with the hammer (click twice to confirm), or press U on it and use the new Remove blueprint button in the window. Delete still works too. Built pieces always stay.
  • Side-to-side spacing is now exact, the same as vertical spacing: the slider moves the chests smoothly from touching to wide open. Posts between chests still stand on tile corners, placed in every gap a corner falls in; the rack slides the chests along the shelf to line up as many as possible, and the window says how many fit.
  • Front-to-back posts go on the tile corner nearest each gap between rows.
  • Pressing U on a blueprint opens "Edit Storage Rack Blueprint" with Update blueprint / Remove blueprint buttons.

1.3.2

  • Posts now stand centred on floor-tile corners, the way vanilla poles snap, instead of partway across a tile. The shelf ends at the posts, so it no longer hangs far out past the chests.
  • Shelves are only as deep as the chests need (posts stand beside chests, never in front), so less floor sticks out front and back.
  • With posts between chests, each column is a whole number of tiles wide; the window tells you the real side-to-side gap that gives.
  • Without posts between chests, long shelves get extra support posts along the back edge every 2 tiles (only where they fit behind or between chests).

1.3.1

  • Shelves now always use 1x1 floors (wood_floor_1x1 / ashwood_floor_1x1) and 1 m poles, picked by name instead of guessed from their size. The tile grid comes from the floor's own snap points, so tiles line up exactly.

1.3.0

  • Spacing controls in the design window: side to side, above each chest, and front to back (for racks more than one deep), with -/+ buttons, a slider, and Touching / Snug / Roomy / Wide open presets. Spacing is now exact instead of rounding up to whole floor tiles; 0 = chests touching.
  • New frame layout: posts run continuously from the ground to the top shelf and the shelves sit at exact heights between them, like real shelving. If the posts' whole pole lengths leave some extra height, the bottom shelf sits on short legs (the window shows how high).
  • Posts between chests are only used where the gap is wider than a post; closer than that, posts go round the outside only.
  • Config: SideGap/TopGap are now SpacingSide/SpacingAbove (0-2 m), plus the new SpacingFrontBack.

1.2.1

  • Fixed the design window crashing on open (TypeLoadException for System.ValueTuple, which the game's runtime doesn't include).

1.2.0

  • Design window: picking Storage Rack in the hammer opens a designer with a live 3D preview. Choose the chest, which way the chests face, how many wide, high and deep, the straight/sideways mix and the frame, and see the full material list.
  • New: racks can be more than one chest deep, with Back to back and Face to face options.
  • Snapping: the blueprint snaps to floors, walls, other racks and other blueprints (side by side or stacked), and other pieces snap to blueprints.
  • Upgrades: look at a rack built with this mod and press U to redesign it (new chests, more chests). It becomes a blueprint; matching pieces stay, old chests are swapped as you build and their contents move into the new chests.
  • The arrow-key / PageUp / PageDown / Home / End design keys are replaced by the design window (press Y to reopen it).

1.1.0

  • Chests can face any of four ways (Front, Right, Back, Left): use the ChestFacing setting or press Home while you hold the blueprint. Sideways chests get resized cells, so the rack still lines up and stacks. Replaces the FlipChests setting.
  • Mix straight and sideways chests in one rack: alternate rows, alternate columns or checkerboard (SidewaysPattern setting, or press End while you hold the blueprint). Cells are sized to fit both ways, so everything still lines up and stacks.

1.0.0

  • First release: Storage Rack Blueprint in the hammer's Furniture tab. Pick the chest type, columns, rows and frame (in game with the arrow keys / PgUp / PgDn, or in the config), lay the blueprint down, then hit the see-through pieces with the hammer to build them from your inventory or nearby chests. Blueprints are saved per world and shared with friends who have the mod.
