README

Vinjeøra

A Valheim mod that lets you switch your warrior's handedness to left-handed — weapons drawn, swung, and animated from the left side.

Why "Vinjeøra"?

The mod is named after the grave of a left-handed Viking discovered in Vinjeøra, Norway. Analysis of the burial showed the warrior carried his weapons on the left side, marking him as one of the rare lefties among Norse warriors. It felt fitting to name a left-handedness mod after him.

Features

  • Toggle between right-handed and left-handed combat at any time
  • Mirrored weapon attack animations for left-hand usage
  • Held items (shield, weapon) mirrored to match the new hand
  • Handedness choice is saved per character and persists across sessions
  • In-game menu to toggle handedness and rebind hotkeys
  • Optional verbose debug logging

Usage

  • Press Insert (default) to open the Vinjeøra menu:
    • Toggle between right- and left-handed
    • Rebind the handedness hotkey (no key is bound by default)
    • Rebind the menu key itself
  • All options are also available in BepInEx/config/com.andre.vinjeora.cfg (created on first launch).
