This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2351ValheimModding-Jotunn
Jötunn (/ˈjɔːtʊn/, 'giant'), the Valheim Library was created with the goal of making the lives of mod developers easier. It enables you to create mods for Valheim using an abstracted API so you can focus on the actual content creation.
Preferred version: 2.30.2README
Comfort-Glide CG-350 Elite
A mobility scooter for Valheim. A real one: four wheels, a front basket, a horn, a little flag, a tortoise and a hare on the speed dial. Build it, ride it through the Black Forest, and as of 1.1, bolt on a sidecar for a friend or a bull bar that flattens trees.
Requirements
- BepInEx and Jotunn (r2modman/Thunderstore installs them for you)
- Everyone on a server needs the mod, same version. 1.1 doesn't mix with 1.0.
Installing by hand: unzip into your Valheim folder, the zip is already laid out so the DLL lands in BepInEx/plugins.
Getting a scooter
Hammer, Misc tab, it's the last thing in there. It costs 750 coins, 6 bronze and 6 leather scraps, with a workbench nearby. Place it and it's a scooter.
Controls
On the scooter:
- E: get on / get off
- W / S: forward / reverse (it beeps when you back up)
- A / D: steer
- Shift: hare setting (the fast one)
- Left click: horn, tap or hold
- Space: jump
- Left / Right arrow: turn signals
- Down arrow: hazards
- Up arrow: headlight (comes on by itself at night)
- B: Ejecto Seato, launches whoever is in the sidecar
Around it:
- E on the basket or trunk: open it
- E on the sidecar: sit in it
- Sidecar or ROW-1 on your hotbar, look at the scooter, press its hotbar number: bolt it on
- Shift+E on the sidecar or ROW-1: unbolt it
The arrow keys and B can be changed in the config.
Driving
The headlight clears Mistlands mist ahead of you in a cone, not around you like a wisplight, so bring both. The scooter goes through portals with you, but the basket counts as your pockets, so no ore smuggling. It tilts with the ground, takes bumps on its wheels, and will tip off a ledge if you park it badly.
The Co-Pilot sidecar
Made at the workbench for 300 coins, 4 bronze and 6 leather scraps.
- A second player rides in it, and comes through portals with you
- The suitcase on the back is a trunk with its own storage
- It has its own lamps, turn signal and headlight
- The red button on your handlebar is the Ejecto Seato. It launches your passenger into the sky. They float down fine.
- Empty the trunk before you unbolt it
The ROW-1 Right-of-Way Assist
A bull bar, made at the workbench for 750 coins, 10 bronze, 5 iron and 10 leather scraps. It bolts on and off the same way as the sidecar.
With the bar on, driving into things on the hare setting knocks them down. It handles about what bronze tools handle: beech, fir, pine, birch, oak, swamp trees, rocks, copper, tin and scrap piles. Silver and anything tougher it just bonks off. Without a bar the scooter doesn't knock anything down at all.
On a server, wards look after your parts: inside someone else's ward, only players they've permitted can bolt parts on or take them off. The basket and trunk work like a cart's storage, so wards don't lock those.
Damage and repairs
The scooter heals itself slowly over time. If it does get wrecked it goes out with a crash (and a sad little meep), and you get half the bronze and leather back, and anything in the basket or trunk, plus the sidecar and bar, drops on the ground. It can sort of swim. It hates it.
Settings
The config is BepInEx/config/com.memu.valheimscooter.cfg.
- Yours: the control keys, horn volume, motor volume
- The server's (under
[Server]): tortoise and hare speed, health, the three prices, and how far the headlight clears mist. On a server the server's values apply to everyone, so admins set these.
If you changed settings in 1.0 they carry over, and the old lines get cleaned out of the file.
Uninstalling and bugs
Empty the basket and trunk before you uninstall, scooters and their parts don't exist without the mod. Found a bug or something weird on a server? Let me know on the Nexus page.
Model made from scratch in Blender, mod made with Jotunn.
