Blackheim Cheat Tag Enforcement
Removes complete stacks marked with Valheim's native ItemData.m_cheated flag. Install the same version on the dedicated server and every connecting client.
Behavior
- Removes tagged carried items, saves the cleaned character, displays a warning and disconnects the carrying player after an eight-second delay. No automatic bans or administrator exemption.
- Cleans loaded, locally owned containers, ground drops, item stands and armor stands. Nearby players are not kicked for world items.
- Saves deletion receipts under
BepInEx/config/BlackheimCheatTagEnforcement/on the peer performing deletion. If a receipt cannot be written, that deletion is prevented. - Requires a matching client handshake and challenge/response heartbeat. A client that stops responding is disconnected; network outages can also trigger this timeout.
- Local single-player worlds and servers without Blackheim's policy do not activate client cleanup.
Installation and server setup
Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman. For a manual dedicated-server install, place plugins/Blackheim.CheatTagEnforcement.dll under BepInEx/plugins/. Install the listed dependencies separately when installing manually.
Back up the complete world, character records and configurations before enabling deletion. Tagged stacks are deleted automatically, not quarantined.
For admission enforcement, configure ValheimEnforcer's required-mod policy for plugin ID blackheim.cheattagenforcement, version 0.1.1, with strict SHA-256 hash cbd10b4aaeab9fff0f2bf72de69c95910348363721c1f03ae8d52d00d25ae4a5. Configure inventory restoration so it cannot refill deleted items from an older baseline, and test reconnects on your own server. This package does not overwrite your server's policy or configuration.
Scope and limitations
This checks the native cheat flag, not an item's tier or crafter name. Offline characters are handled when they connect. Unloaded world zones are handled as objects become loaded and owned; this is not an offline whole-world purge. Extra storage mods are not covered.
Client reports are not cryptographic proof of honest execution. This is a cooperative enforcement layer, not universal protection against modified clients.
Version 0.1.1 has been used on a dedicated server with real players. Gameplay validation remains incomplete for some storage/ownership paths, solo-world isolation and persistence across restart. ValheimEnforcer's crossplay rejection path has produced ZPlayFabSocket.Flush exceptions on this tested game build. Treat this as an early release and retain backups.
