AutoCrafter
Crafting stations that craft on their own. Look at a workbench, a cauldron, a forge... press H, tell it what to make
and how much, and it takes the ingredients from the chests around it and puts the result in a chest. No new items, no
new buildings: it works on the stations you already have.
(Versión en español más abajo.)
What it does
- Look at a crafting station and press
Hto open the HUD. Add recipes (only the ones you already know are listed) and give each one a mode:- Amount: make it N times, then the order is done.
- Up to max: keep up to N in the chests. It pauses by itself at N and starts again when the stock drops. By default it never goes over N: a craft that would push the stock past N is not made.
- No limit: craft until the ingredients or the room run out.
- Each station is set up on its own, with up to 8 orders per station, tried from the top. Each order can be paused, and the whole station can be switched off.
- The
PANELtab is the technical view: every station loaded around you, how many orders it has, what they are doing (crafting, waiting, finished, paused), with a switch per station and "turn all on / off". - Ingredients come from the chests within 50 m of the station (configurable) that you are allowed to open, nearest first. What the station makes goes into a chest that already holds that item, or else the nearest chest with room.
- Link one chest to a station: press Link chest (next to Ferment on the STATION tab, or on the station's row in the PANEL). The HUD closes; open the chest you want and it is linked ("Chest linked to Workbench"). From then on everything the station makes, including ingredients it makes on the way and what comes out of finished barrels, goes into that chest and only there. It can be at any distance and stays linked after reloading the world; other players with the mod see the link. If that chest is not available (not loaded, open by someone else, no access) the order says so and waits; Unlink goes back to the normal choice. One chest per station.
- It makes the missing ingredient (switch Make missing on each order, on by default): if an ingredient is not in the chests but this station, or another one within range, can make it, it makes that first, one craft per pass, up to 3 steps deep. If a raw material nobody can make is missing, it waits and spends nothing.
- Keeps a reserve of ingredients: each order has a "Keep in chests" counter (off by default). The order only crafts if at least that many of every ingredient would still be in the chests after the craft ("Reserve reached: Honey (19)"), so with a reserve of 10 and a craft that takes 10 honey it needs 20 or more, never dips under 10, and starts again when you restock. The other orders of the station carry on.
- The whole mead loop: add a mead base in Up to max mode and the station also looks after the fermenters near it (switch Ferment at the top of the station, turned on for you): it puts a base from the chests into each empty barrel and empties each finished barrel straight into a chest (nothing falls on the ground). A base, and a barrel that is fermenting, count as the potions they will give, so "max 10 potions" with 6 potions per base makes one base (6) and stops, instead of 12. Turn No overshoot off to let it go over. When the potions are drunk the loop starts again.
- It tells you why an order is stuck: missing ingredients (and which), no room in the chests, the station needs a roof or a fire, you have not learned the recipe, or another player's game runs that station.
- The HUD is drawn to look like part of Valheim (wooden panel, dark slots, bronze buttons) and uses the game's own fonts.

Good to know
- Client-side. The server and other players do not need the mod. A station's orders are saved in the station itself, so they are kept with the world.
- Shared between players who have the mod. What one player sets up, the others see and use. Only the game that owns the
station runs it (the game decides that), so it is never run twice; it writes into the station what each order is doing
and the others see it in their HUD ("Run by ..."). If the station's owner has no mod, or its report stops changing for
30 seconds (counted on each game's own clock, so sleeping through the night does not trigger it), another player's game
with the mod takes it over, so the station keeps working; only a game that can use a chest there does so, and it also
takes the station from a runner that reports it can use no chest (a ward or private chests). Orders run as they are even if your
character has not learned the recipe yet (the player who added them knew it); turn on
RequireKnownRecipesto ask for it. - Stations only work while they are loaded, that is, while you (or a friend with the mod) are near the base. Nothing is made while you are far away.
- A station makes one item per craft and then rests (3 seconds by default), and it plays its own crafting sound.
- It does what a craft does to the inventories (takes the ingredients, gives the item). It does not train your crafting skills, and the item is marked as crafted by whoever's game ran the station.
- Recipes that only upgrade an item, and recipes that take "any one of these ingredients", are not offered.
- Chests that another player has open are skipped.
- Messages appear in Spanish when the game is set to Spanish, and in English otherwise.

Compatibility and known limitations
- Made for Valheim 1.0.x with BepInEx 5 (BepInExPack_Valheim). If a game update changes something the mod patches,
it turns itself off and says why in
LogOutput.loginstead of breaking the game. - This is an early version (0.1.0): the crafting, the stock counting and the HUD are new and have had little testing in
a real game. Please report anything odd with the
AutoCrafterlines ofLogOutput.log. Do not rely on it for items you cannot afford to lose; the mod never creates items from nothing, but it moves real ingredients and results. - Meant for single player and for friends you trust. It takes ownership of the chests it uses, as the game does when you open one.
- Other mods that also move items out of chests (craft-from-chests, auto-fuel mods...) are not known to clash, but this has not been tested.
