README

VRMCompanions

This mod requires BepInEx, Offline Companions, ValheimVRM and all of their dependancies to be installed

Chanelog

  • Added support for VRM file names to match in game companion names. Just change the name of the companion and it will load that same VRM/settings file
  • fixed (mostly) bug where certain armor pieces would appear on the companion vrm model
  • support for multiple differently named companions and unique vrm models (based off name/filename system)

Notes

This is extremely early in development, expect many bugs. Currently as a proof-of-concept

How to Install

First install the above dependancies and their dependancies Simply drag the BepInEx folder to your Valheim Root folder, where the .exes. If you have the VRM Mod already installed, a ValheimVRM folder will exist. if it doesnt, install ValheimVRM and open the game once. Once the folder is there, drag your custom VRM into it. Your in game character will use the VRM file if their in game name and filename match, otherwise it will default to Companion.vrm, if one exists.

You can also create a copy of the settings_default.txt file in the ValheimVRM folder and rename it settings_yourVRMNameHere.txt to allow for some editing values., for e.g Jaina.vrm and settings_Jaina.txt, although this is still experimental and unsure if all the structures within work.

Expect bugs!

This is a very early proof of concept test that was built with a lot of help from AI. Please report any bugs on this page in the comments. Thanks :D
