README

Watcher

A playable survivor for Risk of Rain 2: a silent figure in a poncho who never touches the ground. Where his head should be there is only an open collar, and above it a black hole for an eye, ringed by a turning halo. Every attack comes from that eye, and his power keeps his allies standing.

Built for multiplayer: damage, barriers and debuffs are handled on the server, and everything you see shows the same for every player.

Build him your way

Every slot has one job and every skill fits with every other, so pick whichever buttons feel right:

  • Primary - your main damage.
  • Secondary - set up a fight or protect your team.
  • Utility - move, with a small bonus.
  • Special - a big moment that always helps the team.
  • Passive - only adds, never takes away. With any passive, hold Jump in the air to drift down slowly.

Skills

Slot Watcher Vigil Verdict
Passive Halo - 1 extra jump Kindred Light - you and allies within 20 m gain +20 armor and 5% barrier every 2 s Guilty - enemies that hit you or an ally take +15% damage from you for 4 s
Primary Thought - strikes the marked enemy for 220%, then jumps to 2 more for 80% each Steady Gaze - a held beam: 300% damage per second to an enemy, 7% barrier per second to an ally Sentence - 110% strikes; every 5th on the same enemy deals 300% and always crits
Secondary Mind Wave - a 300% pulse that knocks back and weakens enemies Interrupt - for 4 s the halo cuts enemy projectiles out of the air, each one giving barrier and striking back Condemn - a 250% strike that marks for death (+50% damage taken); the mark leaps on when it dies
Utility Shifts - 3 short blinks where you look Guiding Light - teleport to an ally up to 60 m away; you both gain 20% barrier Judgement Step - teleport behind an enemy up to 50 m away for 250% around you; your next primary crits
Special Singularity - a sphere that pulls enemies in and collapses for 800%; kills near it shield your allies Watchfire - a circle of light: allies inside gain armor and barrier, enemies burn and are pushed out Final Verdict - lightning strikes the 4 weakest enemies for 800% and executes those left below 25%

Unlocks

  • Watcher - use a Lunar Seer in the Bazaar Between Time, and arrive where it showed you.
  • Vigil skin, Watchfire and Kindred Light - have a single Singularity turn 10 deaths into barrier.
  • Verdict skin - win a run on Monsoon or harder.
  • Every other alternate skill has an achievement of its own, shown in the game.
  • Unlock Everything in the config makes all of it available at once.

Features

  • Three skins, each with its own colour for every effect: Watcher (sky blue), Vigil (amber), Verdict (crimson).
  • He keeps his hands behind his back at rest and takes a caster's stance while fighting. Smoke circles him when he stands still, and his poncho swings as he moves.
  • Arrives on the first stage in a column of light instead of a drop pod.
  • Item displays for vanilla items, a logbook entry with his own lore.
  • Emote support with CustomEmotesAPI (optional).
  • Every number is in the BepInEx config, one section per skill, so hosts can rebalance without recompiling.
  • Base-game effects and sounds only: friends without the DLCs can play with him too.

Dependencies

  • BepInExPack
  • R2API (Core, Prefab, RecalculateStats, Language)
