Slow Motion and Fast Forward - Game Speed
Play it at your pace.
Slow motion and fast forward for Risk of Rain 2: play your solo runs at 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1.25x, 1.5x or 2x speed and change it any time with a key. Slow it down when the screen gets busy or your reactions need a moment; speed it up for the quiet parts.
Also known as: slow-mo, time scale, speed up the game.
What it does
- Changes the whole game's speed in solo runs: you, enemies, projectiles, the run timer and the difficulty clock (at 0.5x the difficulty also rises at half speed per real second).
- Pause menus keep your speed: the game saves the speed when you pause and restores it when you resume.
- The new speed shows on screen for a moment and is saved for next time.
- Back in the main menu the game is at normal speed again.

All keys and the steps can be changed in the config. Risk of Rain 2 binds no numpad key by default (its keyboard controls are WASD, Space, Left Ctrl, Left Shift, E, Q, R, Tab, G and Z; Enter or Numpad Enter opens the chat), and popular mods use F1-F3. If you have bound a game action to one of these keys yourself, the log warns you at the start of a run.
Solo only, and no leaderboard runs
- Only in solo runs. In online lobbies and in local split-screen the game runs at normal speed, so no other player is ever affected.
- While this mod is installed, Prismatic Trials scores are never submitted (it sets the game's own cheat flag) and the Prismatic Trials leaderboard view stays empty.
- Your game counts as modded while this mod is installed (the game's own flag): a * after the build number, and online lobbies you host carry the game's "mod" tag.
- Achievements, unlocks and Eclipse levels still count as normal in these runs: the mod neither blocks nor awards them.
