Garden of Sacrifice

REX's domain expansion turns the battlefield into a living sanctuary of giant flowers, branching trees, golden pollen, and turquoise skies.

Deal damage to fill the meter, then press T to awaken the Garden of Sacrifice. REX keeps all four normal skills.

Inside the garden

  • A 62.5 m stationary sphere, with 3.5 seconds of expansion, 34 active seconds, and a 2-second dissolve.
  • Automatic native Tangling Growth flowers every 0.75 seconds when terrain and capacity permit, up to 8 live flowers. Flowers retain native pull, entangle, damage, healing, and networking; their damage starts at 200% of caster damage.
  • Allied players and the garden's clone heal for 2% of maximum health per second while inside.
  • REX's native ability health costs are reduced by 50% while the garden is active.
  • Actually spending health on those abilities triggers Sacrificial Bloom: nearby allies inside the garden heal for 1% maximum health, within 14 m, at most once per second.
  • A protected native REX AI clone fights throughout the active phase at 50% of caster damage, using the native clone loadout path. Items and equipment are not copied.
  • Natural expiry grants Final Bloom, healing eligible allies inside for 10% maximum health. Cancellation does not grant this heal.

The garden grows terrain-following trees, roots, vines, giant blossoms, and meadow plants. A camera-local scenery projection supplies the botanical sky, moss, haze, and sunlight. Native collision and navigation remain in use.

Charge and cleanup

Damage dealt by REX to enemies fills the meter while the domain is inactive. The default charge requirement is 100 times level-scaled base damage. Casting consumes the full meter; charge persists between stages.

Owned flowers, their root effects, the clone, sounds, and visuals clean up when the cast ends, REX dies, or the stage changes. Normal Tangling Growth casts remain separate. This public build has no test key or free-cast button.

Installation

Install using r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager, then launch modded. Dependencies install automatically.

For manual installation, install the listed BepInEx dependencies, then copy plugins/GardenOfSacrifice into BepInEx/plugins. Restart the game after installation.

Configuration

After the first launch, close the game and edit BepInEx/config/wreckzog.gardenofsacrifice.cfg.

The [REX] section controls activation key, radius, charge, durations, healing, health-cost reduction, flower interval/cap, clone damage, and local visual quality/intensity. Audio and formation settings have separate sections. The default activation key is T.

Compatibility and validation

  • Every co-op participant should install the same version. Cast requests check player ownership; gameplay runs on the server.
  • Standalone REX release. Remove the development Survivor Domains plugin before using it, because both implement the same ability.
  • The projected environment requires Direct3D 11. Other rendering APIs retain the botanical meshes and sphere fallback.
  • Built against the locally installed Windows game. Automated checks cover production vegetation generation, flower scheduling/cap/cleanup, native ability-cost hooks, clone protection, request ownership, network snapshots, and absence of development activation controls. Offline shader checks use synthetic terrain and do not measure Unity frame rate.
  • Fresh standalone in-game and multiplayer playtesting remains pending, including healing interactions, clone AI/loadouts, native flower behavior, late joins, and performance with overlapping gardens.
