John Fister for How to Fish
Play How to Fish as John Fister, with his character model, Fister movement and abilities, effects, and original Fister sounds.
Requirements
- How to Fish (Steam build 25604825; Unity Mono).
- BepInEx 6.0.0-be.788 or a compatible BepInEx 6 Mono build.
Install
Import this ZIP as a local mod in a Thunderstore-compatible mod manager, or extract its contents into the game's BepInEx profile. The plugin and its assets are under BepInEx/plugins/JohnFister/.
Controls
- WASD / game movement input: move.
- Left mouse: hold to charge a punch; release to attack. Quick click for a tap punch.
- Right mouse: parry; aim down while parrying for a parry jump.
- G: grab, hold, and throw an object. In the air, aim down for a piledriver.
- Left + right mouse: combo grab.
- Full charge + aim up: rocket punch.
- Full charge while airborne + aim down: dive bomb.
- Full charge in the air while aiming at a target: charge an air kick, then release.
- Railing dash: tap left mouse twice quickly, then hold and release to dash.
- F8: toggle John mode off and restore the normal How to Fish player.
Punch, rushing/railing, air-kick, and slam hits apply damage and knockback to supported targets. Punch damage charges from 15 up to 100, air kicks deal 50, rushing/railing starts at 35 and scales with charge up to 100, and slams deal 35.
Holding a weapon or fishing rod switches John to first person while keeping movement available. While any item is held, Fister ability inputs are locked so the game's use, eat, or item action works without triggering a move.
Co-op behavior
John's character and actions are local to your client. How to Fish does not expose a Fister-specific network action interface here, so remote players are not replaced and server-owned fish or objects may correct local hits. The package does not attempt to alter other players.
