README

PrideHUD

Every image in your HUD is now a pride flag. Yes, all of them.

Gear icons, ability icons, status pips, mission markers, bar fills, the little bits of framing art — if it's an image asset on your HUD, PrideHUD paints your chosen flag over it. Pick a flag from the dropdown and the whole HUD becomes that flag.

This is a shitpost. It is also, technically, a working mod.

It's the companion piece to PrideUI, which does the tasteful version — cycling the game's UI color through flag stripes. PrideHUD is the other one. The two stack, if you're brave.

Purely cosmetic and client-side. Nobody else sees it, nothing gameplay-related changes, and removing the mod hands your normal HUD straight back.

Installation

Thunderstore

  1. Install BepInExPack_Mycopunk.
  2. Install ModSettingsMenu by Sparroh.
  3. Install this mod through your mod manager.
  4. Launch the game.

Manual

  1. Install BepInExPack_Mycopunk as above.
  2. Install ModSettingsMenu as above.
  3. Extract the PrideHUD folder into BepInEx/plugins/ in your Mycopunk directory, keeping PrideHUD.dll and the flags folder together.
  4. Launch the game.

Usage

Press F10 in-game, find PrideHUD, and pick a flag from the Flag dropdown. It applies instantly — no restart, no reload.

There is exactly one setting. That's the whole mod.

Flags

Rainbow · Progress · Transgender · Bisexual · Pansexual · Lesbian · Gay · Asexual · Aromantic · Aroace · Nonbinary · Genderfluid · Genderqueer · Agender · Intersex

The same fifteen PrideUI offers.

Adding your own

The flags aren't baked into the DLL — they're loose PNGs in BepInEx/plugins/PrideHUD/flags/, and the dropdown is just a listing of that folder. Drop a .png, .jpg or .jpeg in there and it shows up as an option next time the game starts, named after the file.

Two things to know: filenames with a comma in them are skipped, because ModSettingsMenu splits its dropdown list on commas. And your mod manager may replace this folder when it updates the mod, so keep a copy of anything you add.

What counts as "the HUD"

The mod doesn't guess. Mycopunk's own DisablePlayerHUD switch — the one the game flips when you open the arcade cabinet or the mission select screen — hides exactly four things, and those four are PrideHUD's entire scope:

  • the main HUD canvas
  • the static reticle canvas
  • the gear HUD canvas
  • the mission HUD

Menus, the pause screen, the start menu and the inventory are outside that, and are never touched. Neither is the minimap, which is a live render texture rather than an image asset.

Two more things are deliberately left alone:

  • Images with no sprite. A plain coloured rectangle isn't an image asset — it's a panel backing or a damage vignette. Turning a full-screen dark overlay into an opaque flag would black out your screen.
  • Mask images, whose sprite is a stencil shape rather than artwork. Replacing one changes what gets clipped, which breaks layout rather than being funny.
