Tow Tuner

Your scooter. Your speed. Your cart full of questionable cargo.

Tow Tuner adds a tow hook, a dashboard speed gauge and a boost button to R.E.P.O.'s scooters, including the small variant.

Bring the cart along

Park the scooter with a cart close behind it. Release the cart, grab the hook on the scooter's rear, bring it to the new metal attachment eye beside the cart's handgrip, and release. The eye lights up green when it's ready to connect.

Click the attached hook to disconnect, or simply grab the cart normally: the hook lets go automatically.

The cart stays physical, so take care around corners and reverse slowly. Walls, valuables and bad driving still matter. One cart per scooter; no trailer trains.

Take control of the speed

• Scroll while seated as the driver to adjust the speed limit. The green dashboard segments show your setting, and the small marker shows your current speed.
• Use the raised power button on the dashboard to turn boost on or off. While driving, look at it and press Interact. On foot, use Grab or Interact while the scooter is parked and empty.
• Scooters start with full speed and boost on. Each scooter remembers its own settings while it exists.

Only the driver can change an occupied scooter's settings, whether they're the host or a guest. There are no added keyboard shortcuts or debug text in the middle of the screen.

Install and play

Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman, include the dependency, and launch Modded. Everyone in the lobby needs the same Tow Tuner version.

Updating to 0.2.4? The host and all guests must update and restart the game. This update addresses delayed client grabs failing to activate normal Strong-mode cart handling; it includes the earlier guest controls and shared dashboard fixes. It cannot connect to older Tow Tuner versions.

Defaults can be adjusted in the mod's config. Tow Tuner is disabled in racing arenas.

Good to know

Early release for R.E.P.O. 0.4.4.3. The previous version passed isolated checks with both scooter sizes and a private single-host network check. The latest client-grip changes are built and rule-checked, but not yet tested in a live game. A full session with two real players, network lag and every mod combination has not been verified.
