MapMaker
Build your own battle maps in the game: an editor (F8, or Map Editor on the main menu) for hexes, heights, tiles, objects, hero and enemy spots, then fight on them. Adventure maps take the place of random fight rooms on quest islands.

Map Maker
Make your own battle maps inside the game and fight on them. Maps marked for adventures also turn up on quest islands in place of the game's own fight rooms.
The editor
Open it with Map Editor on the main menu (it takes you to town) or with F8 in town or on an island. The window lists your maps: New map, Edit, Save, Save + Fight, Fight on this map, Hard fight, Open folder, Refresh.
The editor's tools:
- Brush: paint over the ground to add hexes, over hexes to give them a tile. Right click erases a hex (Shift + drag erases many). A right drag turns the camera.
- Height: Raise, Lower or Flatten hexes to a height. Right click takes a hex's height.
- Wall: impassable hexes, where nobody can stand or be placed (drawn darker).
- Objects: a grid of pictures of every object of the map's terrain, with a search box. Drag one onto the map or click a hex to put the chosen one there; drag an object to move it, right click to remove it, R / Shift+R to turn it. ■ marks objects that block sight. Keep any terrain lets a map use objects and tiles from every terrain.
- Hero spots (heroes start there, in order) and Enemy spots (the battle brings the game's own enemies onto them; extra enemies stand beside the spots).
- Undo and Redo. A map has up to 1200 hexes (radius 19).
Maps are .json files in the maps folder next to the mod (Open folder opens it). Share a map by sharing its
file. The window and the editor panel can be resized by their corner.
Fighting on a map
Save + Fight and Fight on this map start a battle on the map with the game's own enemies for your level, Hard fight a harder one. These window battles have no shrines or barrels.
Adventure maps
A map whose file has "adventure": true and the island's terrain can take the place of a fight room: when the party
chooses a fight at a nav circle, the room that rises may be one of your maps, and its encounter is fought there
(bosses and story battles stay as they are). Host or single player; in multiplayer everyone needs this mod and
ModNet. One such map comes with the mod:
Windward Rise (Freewind Forest). Each adventure map can be switched on or off in
BepInEx\config\com.helvetica.mapmaker.adventure-maps.cfg.
