MidgardPlus: Megin

An add-on for MidgardPlus. It needs MidgardPlus 1.51.1 or newer, on the server and on every player.

Everything in it starts off. Turn on The Lodge in the F9 panel (group Megin) or in BepInEx/config/midgardplus.lodge.cfg.

What it adds

• Ýdalir, the hall of Ullr's hunters. One stands in every world, in the meadows or the black forest, between 500 and 2500 metres from the centre.
• Hringvörðr, the ring warden. He sets the Raunir, three trials read from the Saga Book: deeds, bounties and one replay boss felled without dying. With the Saga Book off he counts kills and trophies instead.
• Eiðbaugr, the oath ring. Swear on the great ring and it is yours. It cannot be dropped, traded or lost.
• Megin, your inner might: a bar on the HUD and a skill that rises as you spend it. Sit outdoors at night and it returns three times as fast.
• The omen at Mímir's well. Cast a lot twig and the water names your affinity: Styrkr, Hamr, Skot, Smíð, Stjórn, or the rare Óðr. The answer belongs to the character and never changes on a relog.
• Hamskipti, the change of skin. Choose a new affinity at the price of half your Megin levels, all your powers, coin that doubles each time, and a wait of seven real days.
• Oath powers. Build your own powers from shapes, elements and modifiers, and make them cheaper by swearing oaths that bind them.
• Five tiers of Megin: Neisti, Glóð, Logi, Bál and Ásmegin. Your aura burns in the colour of your affinity, and the same power looks stronger at each tier.
• Mastery. Every sworn power grows through use, in five ranks.
• Megin stances, learned in order at the lodge: Hlíf guards, Móðr gathers the next cast, Hljóð hides you, Sjón senses what is near, and a Drengr learns Skjaldborg and Ofrefli.
• Hendr Starkaðar, the masterwork of a Meistari: the many hands of the old giant.
• Lodge quests (a second setting, also off at first). The Raunir become seven staged trials: endurance, the hunt, wit, the marks, judgment, nerve and the hólmganga, each with its own elder and more than one way through. Four rival candidates take them beside you.
• Máldagi, the contract board: tiered, repeatable lodge work with optional vows for better pay, and work for a whole drótt.
• Virðing, lodge standing, which Drengr and Meistari are earned with.
• Callings: Dýrbani, Haugbrjótr, Vargbani, Vegvísir and Þulr, each with its own line of contracts, a title and stars.
• The lodge's saga and the ordeals of Járnviðr.

Languages

English, Russian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. The Old Norse names stay as they are.

Install

Use the MidgardPlus launcher from midgardplus.odinthered.dev, or a mod manager. Server and players need the same version.
