Uncap player level
Just a silly little mod that uncaps the level because why tf would it be stuck at 94 if they literally add an item that needs you to level up to open chests.
Made mostly with AI. Tested over long runs and in multiplayer.

what it does
- levels don't stop at 94 anymore, with the default settings everything below 94 levels like vanilla
- Longstanding Solitude keeps giving XP past 94 (in vanilla it just stops, so no more free chests)
- Longstanding Solitude gives a free unlock for every level you gain, also when several levels come in at once (vanilla only gives one then)
- Longstanding Solitude doesn't turn into a Pearl at level 91 anymore, only once you reach your max level (or the level you set for it)
- Prayer Beads keep levelling past 94 too
- kills keep giving the right amount of XP late in a run. In vanilla that number stops fitting at some point (around stage 80, a lot sooner if the monsters level past 99) and next to nothing comes out
- level ups past 94 can come many times a second: the ring of light, the flash of the Prayer Beads and the sound show once a second at most
- you can change how expensive levels are, see settings
settings
In the config file or ingame if you have Risk of Options. All of them apply right away, also in the middle of a run. The cost of the level you are on stays what it was, the next one costs what the settings say.
- Initial level cost: XP for the first level up (vanilla: 20), only counts for a new run
- XP multiplicator: how much more every level costs than the one before, in percent (vanilla: 155). 100 makes every level cost the same
- How many levels per level up (vanilla: 1)
- Max level: in case you do want a cap
The Prayer Beads have the same four settings for their own level (section "Beads").
Section "Solitude" has one more:
- Pearl level: the level at which Longstanding Solitude turns into a Pearl (vanilla: 91). By default that's never, unless you set a max level, then it happens when you reach that
Section "Effects":
- Level up effect / Level up effect interval (default: 1): the ring of light on a player or ally, off or at most once per this many seconds
- Level up sound / Level up sound interval (default: 1): the level up sound, off or at most once per this many seconds
- Prayer Beads effect / Prayer Beads effect interval (default: 1): the golden flash of the beads, off or at most once per this many seconds
An interval of 0 shows every single one like vanilla.
There are also three debug keys for trying things out, off by default (section "Debug"). Once turned on, F2 drops Prayer Beads, F3 a Longstanding Solitude and F4 a Brittle Crown in front of you. Host only, the keys can be changed.
multiplayer
- everyone needs the mod, in the same version
- only the settings of the host count
optional mods
- ProperSave: levels (also the ones of the Prayer Beads) are saved and loaded with the run
- Risk of Options: settings menu
- Uncap monster level: monsters don't stop at 99 anymore either
- Uncap gold: gold and prices keep working past what the game can count
- LoopStabilizer: keeps the run playable once the item count turns it into a slideshow
good to know
- doesn't work with StarStorm from reports (not checked again since the 2.0.0 rewrite)
