README

Newt Loot

Newt has spent long enough hiding all the good stuff behind that counter.

Newt Loot gives you an actual reason to fight the Bazaar Between Time's shopkeeper. Killing Newt causes him to drop one independently rolled Elite Equipment / Aspect for every player in the lobby. The rewards burst out in front of him as normal world pickups, so everyone can see and collect them.

Features

  • Killing Newt rewards one Elite Aspect per player.
  • Every player's reward is rolled independently.
  • Works in singleplayer and multiplayer.
  • Rewards use normal pickup behavior rather than being granted directly.
  • Compatible with Artifact of Command.
  • Compatible with Artifact of Indecision: Aspect drops continue through the normal Command-style pickup pipeline, so they behave correctly alongside Indecision rather than turning into an unrelated equipment selection.
  • DLC rewards are automatically skipped when their required expansion is not enabled.

Configurable Aspect Weights

Every supported Aspect has its own configurable weight under [Aspect Weights].

The defaults are:

Aspect Elite type Weight
Her Biting Embrace Glacial 16
Ifrit's Distinction Blazing 16
Silence Between Two Strikes Overloading 14
His Reassurance Mending 13
Spectral Circlet Celestine 11
N'kuhana's Retort Malachite 9
Aurelionite's Blessing Gilded 8
His Spiteful Boon Twisted 6
Of One Mind Collective 5
Shared Design Perfected 2

These values are weights, not fixed percentages. They are normalized against the other currently available rewards. This means they do not need to add up to 100.

For example, setting:

SharedDesign = 0

completely removes Shared Design from Newt's reward pool. Increasing a value makes that Aspect proportionally more common. Decimal values are supported as well.

Supported Content / Modded Items

The reward pool is deliberately hard-coded to the Elite Equipment currently available in the base game and the official DLCs supported by this release:

  • Survivors of the Void
  • Seekers of the Storm
  • Alloyed Collective

Because of this, Newt Loot does not automatically discover Elite Equipment added by other mods, and it will not automatically include new Aspects introduced by future DLC or game updates. New official Aspects can be added in future Newt Loot updates.

This is intentional: it keeps the reward pool predictable and allows every supported Aspect to have a deliberate default weight instead of silently adding unknown equipment to the table.

Artifact of Indecision

Newt Loot is designed to work with Artifact of Indecision. If you use both mods, Newt's Aspect rewards remain compatible with Indecision's limited-choice system.

Artifact of Indecision is a separate mod and is not required to use Newt Loot.

Multiplayer

In multiplayer, the number of rewards scales with the number of players. Each reward is rolled separately, so two players can receive different Aspects — or occasionally roll the same one.

The spawned rewards are normal communal world pickups; they are not locked to individual players.

Notes

  • Newt returns on later visits to the Bazaar, so he can be fought again.
  • Reward weights can be changed in the generated BepInEx config file.
  • Disabled/unavailable DLC Aspects are skipped from the active pool.

Now you finally have a reason to point the gun at the shopkeeper.
