Temporal Storm

Adds the Temporal Storm from Vintage Story as a weather

Needs balancing and may not need but want to polish it more, especially the visuals, therefor now this mod gets the permanent [Beta] treatment, probably expect bugs too

  • Adds 7 Items
    • Temporal Gear
      • Single use item that lowers Temporal Instability at the cost of HP when activated

    • Madness Gear
      • Single use item that increases Temporal Instability at the cost of HP when activated

    • Tuning Cylander
      • 5 Tuning Cylander store items that play different tracks on the Resonator unlockable
      • 3 tracks from Vintage Story, 2 tracks from Lethal Company

  • Adds 1 Unlockable
    • Resonator
      • Plays music tracks from Tuning Cylander store items

  • Adds 4 Enemies
    • Bell
      • Slow, durable enemy that does not directly attack players
      • Rings an alarm when it sees, touches, or is hit by a player
      • Whilst ringing its Bell alarm, Temporal Instability gain increases rapidly and wakes nearby locusts
      • Can investigate loud noises, and may stop to listen or hide while wandering

    • Locust
      • Swarm type enemy that creates a shared nest around the first locust spawn
      • Wanders near the nest, sleeps when calm, and wakes when the swarm is alerted
      • Chases players it sees and attacks at close range
      • Crouching makes players harder to detect

    • Corrupt Locust
      • More dangerous locust variant that leaps onto a player's face
      • Deals repeated damage while attached
      • Can be knocked off by hitting, stunning, or killing it

    • Sawblade Locust
      • Locust variant with a stronger, longer reaching saw attack
      • Holds attack range during cooldown instead of always rushing in
      • Deals more damage than a regular locust

    Enemies only spawn when the Temporal Storm weather is active.

  • Hazards
    • Temporal Rifts
      • Temporal Rifts start to spawn and can eventually spawn enemies as Temporal Instability rises
      • Most Temporal Rifts spawn small groups of Locust variants, whilst few spawn normal enemies
      • Each Temporal Rift has limited amount of power, and spends that power spawning enemies using their pre-existing power values, and eventually weaken and close

    • Rust Objects
      • Rust Objects are objects of rust debri that appear outside during a Temporal Storm
      • Their size and damage are based off of the current Temporal Instability level, becoming more dangerous as the storm worsens
      • Touching Rust Objects can damage the player and slow their movement whilst standing in them

    • Gear Piles
      • Gear Piles are hazards that appear in the facility
      • Similar to Rust Objects, their size are based off of the current Temporal Instability level, but do not cause harm
      • Gear Piles can contain Temporal Gears and Madness Gears as the size reaches it's peak

    These hazards only spawn when the Temporal Storm weather is active.

  • Rustic & Temporal Items
    • Rustic Items

      Conductive scrap inside the facility can be permanently altered by the Temporal Storm. As Temporal Instability rises, conductive items begin to rust and become Rustic, lowering their scrap value and changing their appearance.

    • Temporal Items

      As Temporal Instability rises, Rustic items not yet bought back to the ship have a few chances to become Temporal instead. These items gain a different appearance and have increased value.

    • Ship Protection

      Scrap brought back to the ship are protected from further exposure to the Temporal Storm, as such, Rustic items lose their chance to become Temporal.

Known Issues

  • Pitch Audio Instability makes ALL sound effects wonky with the exception of hardcoded exclusions, configuration for a blacklist may be planned
