BetterHauler
Makes the Hauler's cargo bed usable: read the screen at a glance, see how much more it will take, and stop nudging valuables into the box one by one.

Better Hauler
Quality-of-life for the Hauler's cargo bed.
Everything ships at vanilla settings except the "$X LEFT" readout, so installing it tells you more without changing how anything behaves. Turn up what you want.

Features
- "$X LEFT" on the cargo screen: the box holds a fixed amount of value and then refuses everything, with nothing on screen telling you how close you are. A second smaller line under the main number counts down to zero as you fill it. The cap is read from the box itself, not assumed.
- Wider pickup volume: turn it up and valuables get taken in without being shoved exactly into the box. Adjustable from 1x (vanilla, the default) to 10x. Inside an extraction point it drops back to vanilla on its own, so the bed doesn't grab valuables that are headed for delivery.
- Resizable screen and digits: two independent sliders, both at vanilla size by default.
- See the pickup volume: optional translucent box showing exactly what the range setting is doing. Local to you, no collider, never sent to other players - purely a way to pick a number you like.

Requirements
Both install automatically with this mod - the list is here so you know what ends up in your profile and why.
| Mod | Why |
|---|---|
| BepInEx | The mod loader itself |
| REPOConfig | Puts the settings in the in-game Mods menu. Without it they can still be edited in BepInEx/config/ningen.repo.betterhauler.cfg |
Settings
Mods > REPO Better Hauler in the main menu. Everything applies immediately - no restart, and no need to respawn the Hauler.

| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Screen Size | 1.0 | Size of the screen panel. The digits keep their own size |
| Text Size | 1.0 | Size of the digits on the screen |
| Show Remaining | on | The "$X LEFT" line under the main number |
| Replace Main Number | off | Show the remaining amount instead of the value inside, as one number |
| Remaining Text Size | 0.45 | Size of that line, relative to the main number |
| Pickup Range | 1.0 | How much wider the bed's pickup volume gets |
| Show Pickup Range | off | Draw that volume as a translucent box |
| Pickup Range Opacity | 0.15 | How solid that box looks |
Sizes much above 1.5 push the digits outside the screen frame, and a large Screen Size can poke the panel through the cargo box mesh - both are left to you rather than capped.
Multiplayer
The game only runs the bed's pickup and capacity checks on the host, so Pickup Range and everything under Unfair only do anything if the host has this mod - and it's the host's settings that count. A client with different Unfair settings will see its own "$X LEFT" figure, which won't match what the host's bed actually accepts. The screen and text settings are local and work for whoever installed it.
Unfair
Off by default, and kept in their own section at the bottom of the settings page. These don't make the Hauler easier to read or handle - they change what it's allowed to do. Fine for a relaxed run; not how the game is meant to be played.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Cargo Limit | 20000 | How much the bed holds, in dollars (5,000 - 500,000, rounded to 1,000) |
| Unlimited Cargo | off | No cap - the bed never fills. The remaining line reads NO LIMIT |
| Accept Any Size | off | Take valuables of every size instead of refusing anything above small as "Too big". Big ones still have to reach the pickup volume, so this pairs with a higher Pickup Range |
