Getting Started

Installing
The easy way is a mod manager such as r2modman or the Thunderstore Mod Manager. Install Wisplings and it brings BepInEx and Jötunn along with it.
To install by hand, put the whole Wisplings folder (the DLL and the Translations folder) into BepInEx/plugins/. You'll need BepInExPack for Valheim and Jötunn installed first.
When you can start
Wisps are a Mistlands find, and so is everything you need to make them:
- a Galdr table
- Wisps and Refined Eitr
- a few items that suit the wisp you're making (see Crafting Costs)
The cheapest wisps to start with are the Scout and the Wayfinder. The Sentinel, Warden, Phoenix, Storm and Bastion are the strong ones and need Ashlands materials.
Making your first wisp
- Build a Galdr table if you don't have one.
- Open it. The wisps are listed with its other recipes once you've found their materials.
- Make the wisp and equip it. It goes in the utility slot, the same one as Megingjord and the Wishbone, so it replaces whatever you had there.
A small glowing ball follows you, in the wisp's own colour. That's your wisp.
Levels
Every wisp has three levels, each with a name from Norse folklore. Hover over a wisp in your inventory to see what each level does.
Upgrade at the Galdr table, the same way you'd upgrade armour at a forge. Level 2 needs a level 2 Galdr table and level 3 needs a level 3 table, so you'll want the table's upgrades built.
Levels add to what the wisp does. A level 3 Repair Wisp doesn't just fix faster, it fixes everything around the piece it's working on. A level 3 Scout flies out to show you the way into a dungeon.
One at a time
You can only wear one wisp. If you want a second working, build a Wisp Anchor at your base and put one in it. If you use InventorySlots, a small compatibility mod lets you wear a second one in its Demister slot (see Mod Compatibility). The Repair, Harvest, Stoker, Stash, Herder and Bastion wisps can work from an Anchor.
Two kinds of wisp
Companions work around you, wherever you are: the Scout, Sentinel, Mariner, Wayfinder, Warden, Storm, Balm, Gleaner and Phoenix.
Base wisps look after your home. The Stoker, Stash and Herder only work inside a base, which means the area around a workbench or fire, and they take what they need from your chests. The Repair and Harvest wisps work wherever you are. age
