Exploring Wisps
Updated a day agoExploring Wisps
Companions for when you're away from home. They work around you wherever you are.
Scout Wisp (pearl white)
Marks things worth picking up with a short glow that only you can see. It never touches your map, so exploring is still up to you.
| Level | Name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ratatoskr | Pickables within 20 m |
| 2 | Huginn | Within 30 m, plus chests you haven't opened (marked in gold) |
| 3 | Muninn | Within 40 m, plus dungeon entrances, and it flies out to show you the way in |
- Stones, branches and flint aren't marked, since they're everywhere.
- It doesn't mark things inside your own base.
Sentinel Wisp (magenta)
One of the strong wisps. It pulses and chimes when something hostile gets close, faster as it closes in. It only warns. The rest is up to you.
| Level | Name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vörðr | Warns within 30 m |
| 2 | Gjallarhorn | Within 40 m, with a deeper chime for bosses and starred creatures |
| 3 | Heimdallr | Within 50 m, names the threat and its direction, and warns of shots coming from behind you |
- Passive animals are ignored.
- Only you hear the chime, unless the server turns on
ChimeForEveryone. - In multiplayer the shots-from-behind warning only sees projectiles your own game is running, so it can miss some when another player's game is handling that area.
Mariner Wisp (teal)
On a ship it climbs above the mast, lights the water at night for everyone aboard and warns you about serpents and other hostile swimmers. Ashore it's a plain light.
| Level | Name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vágr | Warns within 40 m |
| 2 | Njörðr | Within 60 m, a brighter light, and it names the creature and its direction |
| 3 | Ægir | Within 80 m, the widest light, and a countdown before a Leviathan you're standing on dives |
- The light only comes on at night, unless the server turns on
LampInDaylight. - It doesn't warn about shallows. Watching the water is still your job.
Wayfinder Wisp (spirit grey)
Die while wearing it, and when you respawn a guide is waiting to lead you back to your tombstone. It drifts ahead of you and leaves a short trail.
| Level | Name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fylgja | Guides you for 10 minutes |
| 2 | Hamingja | 20 minutes, and it lights the way at night |
| 3 | Valkyrja | 30 minutes, and a column of light over the tombstone once you're within 50 m |
- It only counts if you were wearing it when you died. You don't need it when you respawn: it's in the tombstone with everything else.
- The guide fades when you reach the tombstone, when its time runs out, or if the tombstone is gone.
- It shows the way. It doesn't fetch your things for you.
